AlphaRet Professional Chemical Peel in Brighton and Hove

The AlphaRet Professional Peel is Noaem’s only standalone chemical peel treatment. It is used to improve uneven tone and surface texture, with minimal interruption to normal daily activities.

At Noaem Skin in Hove, treatment is performed by Iki Rhode, prescribing pharmacist and co-founder of the clinic. She selects between AlphaRet 30 and AlphaRet 50 after assessing the skin and confirming that retinoid tolerance has been established. The strength can be adjusted as the skin responds across a corrective course.

The treatment combines exfoliating acids with AlphaRet retinoid technology to support controlled exfoliation and cell turnover. It can improve skin that appears dull or congested as well as early visible changes in skin quality.

IN BRIEF

  • Appointment Time: 60 minutes.
  • Available Strengths: AlphaRet 30 and AlphaRet 50.
  • Anaesthetic: Not required.
  • Recovery: Minimal downtime, although mild flaking may occur.
  • Results: Brighter, smoother skin and improvement in surface pigmentation may be visible after one treatment, with cumulative changed across the course.
  • Corrective Course: Usually three treatments at four-week intervals.

How the AlphaRet Professional Peel works

The AlphaRet Professional Peel combines alpha hydroxy acids, salicylic acid and AlphaRet retinoid technology. These ingredients support exfoliation and cell turnover through complementary mechanisms, helping to improve visible roughness and uneven tone.

The formulation is stronger than an everyday exfoliating product and is applied under clinical supervision for a controlled period before being removed during the appointment.

More established changes respond progressively across a corrective course.

What the AlphaRet Professional Peel may improve

The peel may be recommended for:

  • Uneven skin tone.
  • Surface pigmentation.
  • Rough or uneven texture.
  • Fine lines.
  • The appearance of enlarged pores.
  • Dull or congested-looking skin.

The AlphaRet Professional Peel is most appropriate for concerns affecting the surface and overall quality of the skin.

Established sun spots may respond more directly to BBL HEROic, while deeper textural changes may require microneedling or MOXI.  Pigmentation that is hormonally influenced also requires careful assessment before any peel is recommended.

Visible peeling is not required

The AlphaRet Professional Peel provides controlled exfoliation without relying on dramatic visible peeling. Mild dryness or light flaking may occur over the following days, although some patients notice very little shedding.

This minimal recovery makes the peel easy to fit into everyday life, and many patients return to work or their usual activities immediately afterwards. Its effect depends on the formulation and the changes it supports within the skin, not on how visibly it peels.

Where the peel sits within a treatment plan

The AlphaRet Professional Peel can be used as a corrective course when surface texture, uneven tone or congestion is the principal concern.

It may also be used to prepare the skin before microneedling. This allows Iki to assess the response to exfoliation and improve the condition of the skin before progressing to Dermapen 4 TriLuxe or PolyLuxe.

A preparatory peel is not required for every microneedling patient. The sequence depends on the condition of the skin and the concerns being treated.

What treatment involves

The appointment begins with an assessment of the skin. It is then cleansed and prepared before the selected AlphaRet formulation is applied.

The peel remains on the skin for a controlled period. Mild tingling or warmth may be felt while it is working. The formulation is removed during the appointment.

The clinical protocol includes selected skinbetter science products used before and after the peel itself. These include antioxidant skincare and a moisturising cream to condition and support the skin as part of the treatment.

The complete appointment takes approximately one hour. The skin may look brighter or mildly flushed immediately afterwards.

Preparation and recovery

Retinoid tolerance must be established before an AlphaRet Professional Peel. If you are not already using an appropriate retinoid, Iki will explain how to introduce one and allow the skin time to adjust before treatment.

Retinoids, exfoliating acids and other potentially irritating products must then be paused for the period advised before the appointment. Avoid deliberate sun exposure and do not apply fake tan to the treatment area.

Treatment will be postponed if the skin is sunburnt, infected or actively inflamed.

After treatment, skincare should remain simple while the skin recovers. Mild tightness, dryness or light flaking may develop over the following days. Shedding skin should be allowed to clear naturally.

Makeup can usually be applied after 24 hours, provided the skin is intact and comfortable. Daily broad-spectrum sun protection is essential following treatment.

Results and corrective courses

Some patients notice brighter, smoother skin after one treatment. The peel may also produce visible improvement in surface pigmentation, although more established or extensive pigmentation will usually require a corrective course.

A corrective course normally consists of three treatments spaced four weeks apart. Changes in uneven tone, surface pigmentation and texture continue to develop as the course progresses.

Iki assesses the skin before each appointment and may adjust the strength according to its response. A patient may begin with AlphaRet 30 and progress to AlphaRet 50 once tolerance has been established.

An appropriate home skincare routine and daily sun protection help support the result. Maintenance peels can be discussed after the corrective course where appropriate.

Begin with The Noaem Skin Consultation

The AlphaRet Professional Peel is available following assessment with Iki. She will confirm whether a peel is appropriate, which strength should be used and whether a standalone course or a wider treatment plan is more suitable.
