Polynucleotide Injections
Polynucleotides are a gold standard in injectable regenerative skin treatment.
They are serums made from purified DNA fragments that stimulate the activity of the skin-producing cells resulting in a 47% increase in collagen production and a 52% increase in epidermal thickness in as little as three weeks.
This cutting edge regenerative medicine encourages cell growth and replenishment, resulting in improved skin elasticity and hydration. Polynucleotides can also improve sun damaged skin and scarring, giving a more nourished and healthy look to your skin.
They can be used in any area of skin, and are very popular for treating changes around the eyes, mouth, neck and hands. This procedure is quick and minimally invasive but can produce some really great results.
The skin is cleaned and local anaesthetic cream may be applied to the area being treated.
Generally a cannula is used to provide most of the treatment to the deeper layers, but this can be combined with some skin surface injections in particular areas depending on your preference.
Some mild to moderate discomfort can be experienced while the product is being injected, but it is short-lived.
You do not need to prepare your skin in any particular way. Your skin will be cleansed and anaesthetic cream applied during your appointment.
You should consider booking your treatment to allow 1 – 2 days for your skin to settle afterwards by avoiding strenuous activity or excessive sun exposure.
Your skin may look and feel slightly full or puffy immediately after treatment, although this tends not to be noticeable to others and will settle in the hours after treatment as the product is absorbed.
Bruising is unlikely and is usually minimal, short-lived and concealable when it does occur.
