Top 5 Skin Treatments in Brighton to Boost Confidence Before a Big Event

Whether it’s a wedding coming up – perhaps even your own – an awards ceremony or an end of summer do to prepare for, we want our skin looking plump and glowing for every occasion. This week we thought we’d take a moment to talk you through the best treatments to brighten and hydrate your skin in preparation for an event. Especially if there might be photographs, prepping your skin beforehand will ensure you’re radiating your best.

1. Why Skin Boosters Are the Ultimate Pre-Event Treatment For the Ultimate Glow

One of our top picks for a pre-event treatment is skin boosters. This popular treatment choice hydrates the skin from within. It involves injecting a small quantity of hyaluronic acid into the skin using a very fine needle. Skin boosters plump the skin and increase radiance and glow – especially important if you’re expecting photos as it’s your skin’s hydration levels that prevent skin from looking dull.

2. Smooth and Refine Your Skin’s Texture With Microneedling

Microneedling with the Dermapen 4 is an ideal pre-event treatment for achieving smooth, glowing skin. It works by creating controlled micro-injuries that trigger your skin’s natural healing response, boosting collagen and elastin production. The result? Fresher, firmer, more radiant skin with refined texture and smaller pores. Unlike some heavier treatments, microneedling using the Dermapen 4 has minimal downtime, making it the perfect skin treatment in the weeks leading up to a big event—just allow 5–7 days for your full glow to come through.

3. Brighten Dull Skin with a Chemical Peel

If you want your skin to look fresh, smooth and radiant before a big event, a chemical peel is a total game-changer. It gently lifts away dull, dead skin cells to reveal a brighter, more even complexion underneath. Whether you’re dealing with tired skin, breakouts or just want that natural glow to come through, a peel gives you that polished, healthy look and it provides a great even surface to then apply make up. Just make sure to book it about a week ahead to give your skin time to settle and shine.

4. The Power of Polynucleotides Before Your Event for Health and Hydration

Polynucleotides are the ultimate pre-event treatment if you’re looking for a natural, subtle refresh that goes beyond surface-level glow. These powerful skin-regenerating molecules work by stimulating collagen, improving elasticity, and deeply hydrating the skin from within. Unlike quick fixes, polynucleotides support true skin rejuvenation – so your complexion looks plumper, smoother, and more radiant in the days and weeks leading up to your event. Just make sure to plan ahead with this skin treatment, as results build gradually and look their best around 2–3 weeks post-treatment. Also, bear in mind that a course of polynucleotides will give a sustained result rather than a one-off treatment – so plan this one in advance!

5. Personalised Perfection: The Benefits of a Noaem Oxygenation Facial

At Noaem Skin we offer a range of facials at different ‘depths’ and for different purposes. The Oxygenation Facial is the most popular choice as it has that beautiful ‘spa feel’ but with some very real long term benefits.

We begin the Oxygenation Facial with a deep cleanse, then move into the dreamy warmth of radiofrequency. This instantly tightens and sculpts the cheekbones and jawline, while also getting your collagen production going behind the scenes.

Next up, OxyPods work their magic by gently exfoliating and creating a bubbly, oxygen-boosting reaction on your skin – perfect for that fresh, rejuvenated glow.

Then it’s time for a tailored serum, delivered deep into the skin using ultrasound (it creates teeny micro-vibrations to help all the good stuff sink in properly).

We wrap things up with a relaxing hands-on facial, complete with lymphatic drainage massage and a SkinCeuticals moisturiser to lock in the glow.

What About Skincare At Home Before a Big Event?

Now that you’re up to speed on our go-to treatments for glowing skin before a big event, let’s take a moment to share what you can be doing at home to keep that glow going.

Use Sunscreen

We’re taking it back to basics with this one but protecting our skin from the sun has both long term and short term benefits. We recommend using at least SPF30 in the UK as a daily sun screen but if you can, reach for SPF50 on a sunny day. The long term benefits are a lower risk of melanoma and serious sun damage, as well as a slower onset of fine lines and wrinkles. The short term benefits include no risk of sunburn – let’s face it, you don’t want to show up to an important occasion with a red face! – and lower risk of pigmentation issues and sun spots.

We recommend using SPF in your skincare routine year round but if you have got a big event coming up make sure to use sunscreen daily in the lead up to it for as many weeks as you can.

Our Night Before Skincare Routine

Your skin will also benefit from following a ‘night before’ skincare routine. This preps your skin for the following day and allows your products to have maximum impact working overnight on your skin.

  1. Double Cleanse: Start with a gentle balm or oil cleanser to remove the day’s oils and dirt from your skin. Then follow with your regular morning cleanser.
  2. Exfoliate: Use a chemical exfoliant like AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) and BHAs (Beta Hydroxy Acids) to target texture, congestion in the pores and tone. However, if you’ve very recently had an in-clinic treatment it might be best to skip this step as the exfoliants can be too harsh on new and sensitive skin cells. This step also shouldn’t be done more than 2-3 times per week.
  3. Targeted Treatment Serum: This step needs to be focused around your primary skin concern and we can help you with this step if needed.
    • Use a Retinol for fine lines or acne
    • Use Niacinamide for large/congested pores and redness
    • Use Azelaic Acid for rosacea, pigmentation or breakouts
  4. Hydrating serum: Layer with actives or use on recovery nights.
  5. Barrier-Repair Moisturiser: Focus on nourishing, non-comedogenic creams that support skin healing. These creams are light enough not to block pores whilst nourishing skin and encouraging barrier repair.

Follow a Morning Skincare Routine Pre Event

On the day of the event make sure you follow your skincare routine before applying your make up.

  1. Cleanse: It’s important to cleanse to get rid of oil, sweat and grime, especially in the warmer months when this can build up faster.
  2. Toning: The next step is optional – if you like using a toner then tone your skin with a hydrating toner which is ideal for dehydrated or sensitive skin types.
  3. Antioxidant serum: After this step we recommend applying an antioxidant serum. This protects from free radicals and brightens skin tone. This step is especially useful if you have pigmentation, dullness or early signs of ageing.
  4. Hydrating serum or skin booster serum: It’s good to include an ultra hydrating step, especially a product that includes hyaluronic acid to maximise hydration. This results in plump, dewy skin and is also a great preparation step for receiving an in-clinic treatment like microneedling or LED light therapy.
  5. Light moisturiser: The penultimate step is to apply a light moisturiser to lock in that hydration.
  6. Sun protection: Our last step is to apply that all important SPF to protect our skin from the sun.
